Services at Michigan Vascular’s Main Campus in Flint, MI
Free Vascular Screening
Vascular screening is a noninvasive test to screen for and monitor vascular problems, like peripheral artery disease (PAD), peripheral vascular disease (PVD), and carotid artery stenosis. Our Main Campus offers a free screening program in Flint, MI to identify those at risk for vascular problems.
Hemodialysis Access
Vascular access is a special passageway to your bloodstream to connect an artery and a vein used for hemodialysis. Our vascular surgeons in Flint, MI, specialize in providing reliable access, so that your nephrologist (kidney doctor) may treat you with hemodialysis.
PAD Management
Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) refers to blockages or plaques in arteries outside of the heart. These blockages interfere with the blood flow to the brain, arms, organs and legs.
The Surgeons of Michigan Vascular Center in Flint, MI, diagnose and treat PAD with medicines, minimally invasive endovascular procedures, and surgery.
Venous Disease Management
Damaged veins can slow blood flow and lead to blood clot formation. Untreated, this condition causes disorders known as venous disease.
At Michigan Vascular Center, we can diagnose and treat the entire spectrum of venous problems, such as Chronic Venous Insufficiency, Deep Venous Thrombosis, IVC Filters For Pulmonary Embolism, Telangiectasias (Spider Veins), and Varicose Veins.
Stroke Prevention
Our non-invasive carotid artery screening, using Doppler ultrasound, allows us to evaluate the arteries and, if necessary, determine treatment options to reduce one’s risk of stroke. At Michigan Vascular Center, our specialists offer personalized treatment plans, including medical management, risk factor control, catheter based therapies, and surgical repairs.
Abdominal Aneurysm Management
Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) is a medical condition that affects the aorta, the main artery that supplies blood to the body. It can lead to vessel wall weakening and pose a risk of rupture. Risk factors for AAA include being male, over 50, having a close relative with an AAA, high blood pressure, and smoking. The Michigan Vascular Center offers free ultrasound screenings in Flint, MI, to assess your risk of aneurysm.
Vascular Testing
At the Michigan Vascular Center, we proudly offer one of Mid-Michigan’s most comprehensive and reliable vascular diagnostic services. We offer a range of vascular tests such as abdominal aortic imaging, arterial doppler, arterial duplex, cerebrovascular duplex, renal and mesenteric artery imaging, and venous duplex.
Renal Artery Disease Management
Renal Artery Stenosis (RAS) is a condition in which the renal arteries that supply blood to the kidneys become narrowed or blocked, causing a decrease in blood flow to the kidneys. This can lead to kidney damage, hypertension, and other complications. At Michigan Vascular Center, we offer comprehensive screening, diagnosis, and treatment options for RAS. Our experienced vascular surgeons in Flint, MI, use non-invasive, painless ultrasound testing to diagnose the condition and provide lifestyle adjustments, prescribed medications, and surgical treatment if necessary.
Consultation
Michigan Vascular Center provides comprehensive consultation services for patients with arterial and venous disorders. As a nationally accredited surgical specialty, vascular surgery involves diagnosing and treating arteries, veins, and lymphatic systems, except for the heart and brain. Our experienced surgeons offer detailed opinions on the management of our patients, both through surgical and non-surgical options.
