Diagnostic Review & Case Management
Held at Michigan Vascular Ceenter every Thursday morning. All faculty and fellows participate in this conference. Vascular Fellows present a summary of upcoming cases. Faculty and Fellows discuss treatment options on each patient. The agreed upon diagnostic or therapeutic intervention is scheduled for the upcoming week.
Morbidity & Mortality
Michigan Vascular M&M is held once per month on the 4th Monday at 5:00p.m. Each Fellow chooses current/recent vascular cases having adverse events/outcomes to present. Faculty provide feedback and discussion on difficult cases/decision making and diagnostic and treatment issues to improve patient outcomes.
McLaren Hospital M&M
McLaren Hospital holds a weekly M&M each Wednesday at noon for the General Surgery Residents. Vascular Fellows participate in at least one of these conferences per month.
Held at Michigan Vascular Center on the on Education Block day and on the 3rd Thursday of each month. This conference is designed to assist the Vascular Fellows in passing the Vascular In-Training Exam (VSITE) as well as their future vascular board exam.
Power point slides use questions from old exams, vascular textbooks, and the APDVS basic science and clinical science curriculum. In a joint discussion format, Fellows choose a answer. The following slide reveals the answer and the faculty moderator provides input in the discussion of the answers. Slide handouts with answers and dicussion points are available to Fellows after the conference.
Held at Michigan Vascular Center on Education Block day each month. Textbook reading assignments are scheduled for this conference. This conference includes Case Presentations with oral exam format directed by a faculty member.
Held at a local restaurant on the 3rd Monday of each month. Articles from the current issue of the Journal of Vascular Surgery are presented by the Fellows and discussed with Faculty.
Held at Michigan Vascular Center on Education Block day each month. This conference is used to assist Fellows in selecting a project, as well as assisting with the progress of their projects. A faulty moderator assists Fellows with questions, problems they have encountered and evaluation of their projects.
RPVI Vascular Lab Conference
Held at Michigan Vascular Center on Education Block day each month. This conference is designed to assist the Vascular Fellows in passing the Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation Exam.
Power point slides use questions selected by the vascular lab manager and registered vascular technologist. In a joint discussion format, Fellows choose a answer. The following slide reveals the answer and the lab manager, acting as moderator, provides input in the discussion of the answers.
Endovascular Simulation Training
Held at the McLaren Flint Simulation Lab on Education Block day each month. Various endovascular skills and simulation training modules are designed to enhance the endovascular skills and knowledge of the vascular fellows. For additional information, click on Simulation on the right panel.
Vascular Education and Skills Training
Held at the Genesys Skills Lab on the 3rd Tuesday evening of each month. This training consists of twelve open vascular surgery skills modules.
